Your responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Level Designer to build and fill the large open world of our next factory game in Unreal Engine 5.

The world needs to be rewarding to explore and give players great places to build. Over the course of the game, the world also changes visibly in response to what the player does.

You'll be the first level designer on a new game team. No factory game experience required.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities
  • Own the entire level design for the whole game

  • Create exploration spaces, points of interest and environmental storytelling

  • Shape where and how players build their factories

  • Work with design, art and engineering on tools, workflows and performance
  • Playtest and iterate

What We're Looking For
You will likely have:
  • Shipped level or world design on an open-world or large-environment game
  • Strong Unreal Engine 5 editor skills
  • A portfolio that shows your process from blockout to final
  • Clear communication and documentation
  • Experience with PCG, World Partition or Blueprints
  • A good understanding of artistic fundamentals for set dressing

In addition, you may have:
  • Experience with survival, exploration or simulation games
  • An interest in factory games

What We Offer
  • Fully Remote: We employ directly inside Germany
  • Flexible working hours!
  • Paid overtime, on the rare occasions it happens
  • An office budget to ensure you have the ergonomic setup and hardware you need to work comfortably
  • A monthly personal growth allowance for courses, books or other learning material
  • Focus days to research or learn new skills
  • A yearly team gathering to meet and collaborate in person
  • A yearly salary review to keep your pay in line with the market, and an automatic increase of 2% per year
  • Hardware & home office budget (2.000€ when joining, then 1.000€ yearly).
  • Job Ticket (if you live in Germany).
